| The Rhydybont Beef Herd is fed on grass so we have to make hay in the summer months ready for the wintertime. You can imagine we always have plenty of work to do! First of all we have to mow the grass. We cut the grass when the weather is fine and when several dry days are expected. The grass is then left to dry in the sun.

The grass is then ready to be gathered up and made into a bale. A bale is a large package of dried grass tightly bound with twine. If you look carefully you may see a couple of bales in the background! |
|
Here you can see the finished bales all gathered up and ready to be stored for the wintertime, giving our animals the best meal, which is why our Rhydybont Beef Herd produces 100% true beef.
